12 June 2014, Ready For NS!
Boom!12 June had finally arrived, the day for my dear to serve the nation.
2 years of National service isn't gonna be easy for him.
The first 2 weeks of Tekong is the worst as I can't get to see him till 27 June :(
Woke up at 6.30am, to Clive house and his dad drove us to Pasir Ris interchange.
His dad last minute said " I have seen enough of Tekong, you all go ahead". When his dad said that,
I can see the disappointment in Clive's eyes....
We took the ferry with Clive's friend who also enlisting. Upon reaching, parents and friends were separated from the boys. We toured their bunks, listen to talks on what equipment they were given and the journey all these were to help us better understand what they are going through.
It was super boring for me, as I attended my brother's enlistment and now he is at tekong as a sergeant :) At there it reminded me, how sulky my bro faced was and how the sad expression on his gf face. I finally understood how she felt back then....
After the tour, we went to the auditorium to listen to the commando speech, better understand their schedule and training. Lastly listen to the recruits taking the oath. The malay lady beside me was tearing =.= and that didn't make me feel any better but i just blocked it off. Lastly was the national anthem, haha it's been ages since I heard it and it reminded me of secondary school where our teachers will make us stay back to sing it as no one sang it during the flag raising ceremony.
Lastly was lunch with the recruits! The food was yummy :) haha but food are yummy only when there are parents around. The sad part after lunch, is saying goodbye to them. Bidding farewell wasn't easy, my heart felt sad but I smiled at him as I didn't want him to worry but his face was more sad than mine as he said bye. I felt that I have no right to be sad just because I will miss him, is him that will be suffering going through training and all.
I am counting down to 27 June ^^
and counting down to 10pm very day :)
